Enter the magical world of film! At Cineteket you can learn all about how a Swedish feature film is made, from script development to distribution. Here you can read film scripts from the films shot at Ystad Studios, from Wallander to the vampire movie Frostbite, and see some of the real props and sets used in the movies. Children will enjoy trying out the invisibility cloak in our blue screen and making their own film sequence using stop frame animation.
You can visit the set of Kurt Wallander’s police station from the Swedish films and get information about the actors, the movies and the murder cases of Wallander.
Ystad Film Tours offer walking tours in Ystad’s charming city centre, where you will get inside information about the Wallander locations as well as the history of film in Ystad,
from the birth of Swedish cinema through “the Angelina Jolie of the silent movie era” and Ingmar Bergman, to the latest international horror movie shot in the area.
Tours in English start from the Tourist Information at St Knuts Torg.
The Cineteket film experience centre is open 15th of May – 15th of September
